Founded in 1937 by a group of migrant farm workers, the small city of El Mirage is a farming and agriculture community located northwest of Phoenix, Arizona. There are many outdoor camping and hiking locations to explore in El Mirage and with nearly 300 days of sun each year and an average temperature of around 75 degrees there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities in El Mirage.
A favorite pastime in El Mirage is golf—with close to a dozen neighboring golf courses visitors and residents are sure to find some green that suites them. In the fall, visit the many apple orchards in the area, which host festivals centered on celebrating the fall farming harvests. Attractions located near El Mirage include the Arizona Military Museum—which features exhibits recognizing the arrival of the Spanish Conquistadors through present day. Other attractions include the Pueblo Grande Ruins, Arizona State Capital Museum, the West Valley Art Museum and the Arizona Wildlife Refuge.
